the choice of machines on offer is quite overwhelming.

I have a budget of about £500 and am looking for a decent machine for my office. Needs to be easy to clean and to use..

Can you guys recommend me a model?

Thanks,

Rob.

Hi Rob,

Very many thanks for your query. To help you further with your query would you be able to tell me how many coffees approximately do you intend to make a day? This will help me identify the machine which can suit your requirements and stays within your budget.

Also, do you have a brand preference and are you familiar with any of the brands on our website?

I hope I am able to find you the perfect coffee machine.

Speak soon,

Paula

Thanks for the swift reply!

As there is only the 3 of us here, i think 3 coffees each a day will probably suffice. I don't really know anything about the different brands, is there a major difference?

Absolutely no problem.

OK, so around 3 cups per day you can choose from either a Capsule Machine, a Pump semi automatic Machine or a Manual lever machine, here are my suggestions:

A Nespresso capsule machine works with Nestle Capsules. This coffee machine system is very simple to operate, all you do is fill your machine with water, insert the capsule, press the button and the coffee comes out instantly. This type of machine is perfect if you dont want to invest a lot of money on equipment, however buying the coffee can only be from Nespresso's website and this means you are tied in to this coffee system. You can't froth milk with it either, however depending on the type of machine you can buy a separate machien frother. You can choose from a range of capsule machines by clicking here

Semi automatic machines are pump driven machines. These machines work with ground coffee only, E.S.E coffee pods, or can work with both systems if they are versatile. They have a separate steam arm which allows you to froth milk. This is the cafe type espresso coffee machine. They have 16 bar pressure which means that there is enough pressure in the pump to push the water through the coffee to create the espresso. I would personally recommend the ASCASO range of products, they are great machines produced in Spain and are all fitted with Solenoid anti drip valve which means that no water will come through the brewhead once your coffee is made. To view our complete range of Pump machines please click here

I hope this has helped and if there is anything else you need please do not hesitate to contact me.
I would also love to know which machine you chose and how you get on with it.

All the best.
The Lever Machines are the traditional coffee machines produced in Italy by La Pavoni, they are the real "barista type" coffee machine and as well as making incredible coffee they are beautiful pieces, some are even compared to works of art. I would say that this is the type of coffee machine a real coffee lover would have as it requires mastering the skill of espresso making. Hey, Im new to Fairfax Coffee forum.. My name is Pete, from the UK and I work for a fairtrade company that specializes in selling coffee and coffee machines. It depends what type of coffee machine you want, whether you need it to do espresso's, or just regular filter coffee.. Bravilor are a highly recommended brand if you are looking for a machine around the 500 mark. Try having a look at the Bravilor Matic 2.
Hope thats of some help,
As I said Im new here so looking forward to getting involved in everything.
Cheers,
Pete
