As the title suggests I'm curious to know how much vinegar to use when cleaning my coffee pot.

I hear it is very effective, but i don't want to use too much and have vinegar tasting coffee!

Suggestions?

Hi Sparticus,

Just so we’re clear here, vinegar can be used as an effective way of cleaning filter coffee machines.

First, make sure you’ve cleaned out all coffee grounds from the carafe and basket. Fill the carafe with one part white wine vinegar to two parts water. Pour the solution into the reservoir and turn the machine on to brew. Once the brew has completed, shut your coffee machine off and wait 15 minutes. Repeat the same process two more times this time only with water and again waiting for 15 minutes in between cycles. To finish, rinse the carafe and filter basket in warm water. Now you’re ready for your next cup of coffee!

Best,

Rob
